Quoting Prices in Another Currency

European hotels, tour operators and rail companies usually quote in their own currency. You can now enter that price exactly as the supplier gave it, and JourneyFuse converts it into your proposal's currency for you. Your client sees both amounts, for example €1,250.00 (about $1,363).

Your proposal's currency is still the one that counts. Totals, checkout, deposits, invoices, bookings, commissions and reports all use the converted amount in your proposal currency. The foreign amount is shown to help your client understand the quote. It is never charged.

When to use it

• A FIT Europe trip where the hotel quoted €1,250 for the stay
• A private tour priced per person in pounds
• A transfer or excursion add-on priced in Swiss francs

Adding a foreign-currency price to an option

1. Open the proposal and expand the option.
2. Under Package Price, click Quote in another currency.
3. Pick the currency the supplier quoted in. JourneyFuse looks up the current exchange rate.
4. Enter the supplier's all-in amount in that currency.
5. The price in your proposal currency is filled in automatically, rounded to the cent.

If the option has taxes or fees, the converted amount is treated as the all-in price, the same as typing it into Package Price yourself.

Adding a foreign-currency price to an add-on

Add-ons priced as Total price, Per person or Per room show the same Quote in another currency link under the price. The amount you enter is for the same unit: per person for a per-person add-on, per room for a per-room add-on.

Per-person-per-day add-ons and add-ons marked Included or Quote on request can't be quoted in another currency, because they have no single price of their own to convert.

How exchange rates work

• Rates come from the European Central Bank. JourneyFuse uses the ECB's daily reference rates, published once each working day.
• The rate is locked when you enter it. A proposal you send today still shows the same prices next week. JourneyFuse never re-converts on its own.
• Refresh rate gets today's rate and updates the converted price. Use it when you revise a quote.
• You can type your own rate. If your supplier or your card gives you a specific rate, type it into the rate box. It is saved as a manual rate with today's date.
• If the rate service is unavailable, you'll be asked to enter the rate manually.

What your client sees

Each price quoted in another currency shows the foreign amount first, with the estimate after it:

When any price on the proposal is shown in another currency, one note appears at the bottom of the page:

Amounts shown in another currency are estimates converted at exchange rates as of Sep 12, 2026. Exchange rates change, and your bank or card issuer may charge currency conversion or foreign transaction fees.

If prices were converted on different days, the note gives the oldest date.

Changing the price afterwards

If you type a new amount directly into the price box after converting, the foreign amount no longer matches, so JourneyFuse stops showing it to your client. The editor tells you when this has happened. Edit the foreign amount or click Refresh rate to convert again, or click the × to remove the foreign quote and keep your typed price.

Duplicates and templates

Duplicating an option or a proposal, or saving it as a template, keeps the foreign amount and its locked rate. Press Refresh rate on the copy if the quote needs today's rate.

Good to know

• Totals and the checkout summary are always in your proposal currency.
• Invoices created when a client books use the converted amount.
• Changing the proposal's currency does not re-convert existing prices. Refresh each rate afterwards.
