Organizing Email Templates

Email Templates → Automation Templates groups everything under My Templates into collapsible category sections. JourneyFuse ships seven categories that follow a trip's arc, and you can add as many of your own as you want.

The built-in categories

CategoryWhat usually lives here
Booking & ConfirmationConfirmations, deposit receipts, welcome notes
Pre-TravelChecklists, document requests, packing reminders
EmbarkationPort day, check-in, boarding instructions
On TripMid-trip check-ins, concierge notes
Post-TravelWelcome home, review requests, rebooking nudges
Upsells & Add-OnsInsurance, excursions, room upgrades
GeneralEverything that doesn't fit a stage

These seven always appear in this order, and they can't be renamed. Your own categories sort alphabetically after them until you drag them somewhere else.

Creating your own category

You name a category from inside a template, not from a separate settings screen. There is no list to set up first.

  1. Open any template (Edit), or create one with New Template.
  2. In the Category dropdown, choose + New category....
  3. Type the name, for example Disney Dining or Group Cruise.
  4. Save.

The template moves into a new section on the Templates page with that name. Every template you save afterwards can pick the same category straight from the dropdown, so you only type the name once.

Names are matched loosely: Disney Dining, disney dining, and DISNEY DINING are all the same category, so a stray capital never splits a section in two.

The Type field next to Category is a separate, older label used by campaign filters. Category is the one that decides which section a template appears in.

Reordering and collapsing sections

  • Drag the handle on the left of a section header to move that category up or down.
  • Click the header to collapse or expand a section.

Both are personal preferences saved in your browser, per workspace. Reordering your categories does not change what a teammate sees, and it never moves a template between categories.

Renaming a category

Hover a category you created and click the pencil on its header. Renaming re-tags every template in that category in one step, so nothing is left behind under the old name.

Two things to know:

  • The seven built-in categories have no pencil. Automations and supplier packs group by those exact names, so they stay fixed.
  • Supplier pack templates don't move. A pack belongs to the supplier that supplied it and is grouped under Supplier Packs, so a rename only touches your own templates.

There's no separate delete. A category disappears on its own once no template uses it, so moving the last template out of Old Promo Ideas removes that section.

Where your categories show up elsewhere

Categories are how templates are grouped when you pick one while building an automation step, so a template filed under Disney Dining appears under a Disney Dining heading there too. Supplier pack templates keep their own grouping by pack name.
