Track Agent Referrals

Last updated November 6, 2026

Host agencies often reward an advisor who recruits another, for example a one-time bonus once the new advisor has been with you six months. JourneyFuse keeps the record that makes that work: who referred each advisor, when it went on record, and how much commission your agency received from the new advisor.

See or add a referral by hand

  1. Go to Settings → Advisors and open the advisor who was referred.
  2. On the Profile tab, find Referred by.
  3. Click Add (or Change), type the referring advisor's name or email, and press Save.

If the name or email matches someone on your roster, JourneyFuse links them and shows "On your roster". If it does not match anyone yet, it is still saved exactly as you typed it and marked "Not matched to an advisor yet", so the referral is on record either way. Add their email to link it later.

Owners and admins can add, change and remove a referral. Coaches can see it for the advisors they coach. Advisors never see it.

Fill it in automatically from your forms

If your signup or "I forgot to name my referrer" forms already send new advisors to JourneyFuse through the host-agency connection, two small additions fill this in for you:

  • Signup form: pass the referrer's name and/or email along with the new advisor (referred_by_name, referred_by_email).
  • Forgotten-referral form: send an agent.referral event with the advisor's email and the referrer's name and/or email.

The first referral on record is kept. A form that later names someone different is refused rather than overwriting it, and an admin can change it by hand. Your developer has the full reference: the JourneyFuse host-agency webhook guide.

Check a referral bonus claim

When an advisor claims a referral bonus, your automation (or your team, through the JourneyFuse connector) can ask two questions:

  • Is this person the referrer on record? List the advisors a person referred by their email.
  • How much did the referral earn? For one referred advisor and a date window (for example their first 180 days), JourneyFuse returns your agency's share of the commission actually received in that window, entry by entry, judged on the supplier's payment date, plus an estimated bonus.

Your agency's share is what was received minus what the advisors are paid. An override paid to the agency owner stays with the agency. The bonus figure is an estimate; finance confirms the amount.

Export the agency share

In Commissions → Ledger, Export CSV now includes two more columns for owners and admins: Supplier paid date (the supplier's own payment date, when a statement payment is matched) and Agency share. Agency share is blank on commissions not yet received.

This is part of JourneyFuse’s host agency software: advisor workspaces, commission splits and agency-wide visibility.
