Practice Workspace

Last updated October 9, 2026

Want to try a new automation, tweak an email template, or show a new teammate around without worrying about a real client getting a message? Open your practice workspace. It is a private copy of your agency's setup, filled with made-up clients and trips, where you can click everything and send nothing real.

Nothing in practice reaches a real person, costs money, or changes your real data. Emails come to you, texts and push notifications are never sent, and no card is charged.

Opening It

  1. Click the workspace switcher at the top of the app
  2. Choose Practice workspace (the flask icon)

Every member can do this, whatever their role. The first time, JourneyFuse builds your copy, which takes a few seconds. After that, the same entry takes you straight back to it.

You will know you are in practice because the screen has an amber background and a banner across the top: Practice workspace. Nothing here reaches a real person. Emails come to you.

To leave, click Back to your agency in the banner or in the switcher.

What Gets Copied

Your practice workspace starts with your agency's setup:

  • Branding (logo, colors, agency profile)
  • Your settings
  • Email templates
  • Forms
  • Automations, including their steps and rules
  • Tags
  • Suppliers

What Is Not Copied

  • Clients, households, trips, groups and proposals
  • Emails, documents and payments
  • Connected mailboxes and other integrations
  • Payment connections (Stripe and the like)
  • Custom domains

Sample Data

So you are not looking at empty screens, practice comes with about eight fake clients, a couple of households, six trips, three proposals and two leads. One trip is a group, one has a payment coming due, and one departs in 30 days, which is handy for testing automations. Every email address ends in @example.test and every phone number is a 555 number. It is clearly example data and never expires.

What Never Leaves

  • Emails come to you, with [Practice] at the start of the subject and a note at the top listing who it would have gone to. Practice sends up to 25 emails a day. After that they are only logged, not delivered.
  • Texts and push notifications are never sent. They are logged so you can see them.
  • Card payments use a "Practice — no card is charged" step. The payment is recorded as a practice payment, and the usual follow-ups (receipts, status changes) run so you can see the full flow.
  • Public pages (proposals, invoices, forms, the client portal) carry a Practice stamp and are hidden from search engines.

Switched-Off Features

Anything that connects to the outside world is unavailable in practice. You will see "Not available in practice" in place of the button for connecting a mailbox, Stripe, QuickBooks or a calendar, inviting teammates, billing, custom domains, importing real files, sharing to the library, referrals and support tickets.

Run Now

Automations normally wait for their scheduled time. In practice, each waiting step on an automation timeline has a Run now button. Click it and the step is sent right away through the normal path, so you can test a "30 days before departure" email without waiting 30 days.

What Would Have Been Sent

Open What would have been sent from the banner to see everything practice emailed, texted or pushed: who it was meant for, the subject, and whether it was sent to you or not sent. It also shows how many of today's 25 emails you have used.

Reset

Made a mess? Click Reset in the banner. It wipes everything in practice and copies your agency's setup again, with fresh sample data. Your real agency is untouched.

Good to Know

  • Your practice workspace is private to you. Nobody else on your team can see it.
  • It is free: no trial, no charge, and it does not count toward your workspace limit.
  • It uses the same features as your real plan.
  • If you are removed from your agency, your practice workspace is deleted too.
  • Changes in practice do not carry back to your real agency. When something works the way you want, repeat it there.
