Migrating From Another Platform

Ready to switch to JourneyFuse? This guide walks you through how to export your data from the most common travel agency platforms so you can import it using JourneyFuse's CSV import tool.

Export before you cancel. Most platforms delete your data when your account is closed. Always confirm you have a complete export in hand before canceling any subscription.


TESS (Travel e-Solutions)

TESS has no single "export everything" button. Data is spread across a few separate export areas, and trip/booking history requires contacting TESS support directly.

What you can export yourself

Client list:

  1. Go to the Clients page
  2. Click the Import/Export button (upper right)
  3. Select Export to Excel
  4. Downloads as .xlsx — includes contact info, birthday, anniversary, passport data, and other profile fields

Commission data (Agency Admin only):

  1. Go to Commission > Paid
  2. Click the Import/Export button
  3. Select Checks Paid
  4. Set your date range and download — includes check date, check number, recipient, and commission amounts

Agent/user list (Agency Admin only):

  1. Go to My Account > Agents
  2. Click Export to Excel

What requires a support request

There is no bulk export for trip or booking history. TESS offers custom reports on the Advanced plan, but these are built by TESS staff for you — not a self-serve report builder. There is also no documented way to export trip notes or client notes.

Email TESS support to request a full data export before migrating or canceling your account:

Subject: Data Export Request for Agency Migration

Hi TESS Support,

We are migrating our agency data to a new platform and need a complete export of all our data. We've already exported our client list and commission records. Could you please provide:

  1. All bookings and trips with travel dates, supplier names, and amounts
  2. Trip numbers, client numbers, and category of supplier for each booking
  3. Any client notes or trip notes that can be included

Please send in Excel or CSV format. Thank you.

Important: TESS deletes account data upon cancellation. Export everything before you cancel.


TravelJoy

TravelJoy lets you self-serve export your client list, but trips, invoices, and notes require a support request.

Self-serve client export:

  1. Go to Clients in the left navigation
  2. Click the three-dot menu (top right, next to "Add Client")
  3. Select Export Clients
  4. A CSV downloads automatically

What's NOT included in the self-serve export: trip and booking details, invoices, payment records, notes, and activity history.

For a full data export, email TravelJoy support before canceling:

Hi TravelJoy team,

I'm preparing to migrate to a new platform. I've already exported my client list via the in-app export. I'd like to request a complete export of: (1) all trips and bookings with client associations, supplier names, travel dates, and amounts, (2) all invoices and payment records, (3) any client notes or activity history.

Please send to [your email]. I'll cancel my subscription after confirming the data was received.

Travefy

Travefy has a self-serve contact export, but bulk trip and booking data requires contacting support.

Self-serve contact export:

  1. Click your name in the top navigation bar
  2. Select Account from the dropdown
  3. Click the Data tab on the left
  4. Click Export — a CSV of your contacts downloads automatically

What's NOT included: trip/itinerary data in bulk, booking records, and commission history. Individual itineraries can be exported as PDFs per-trip from within each trip.

ClientBase / Trams (Tres Technologies)

ClientBase is one of the most commonly used legacy platforms, and also one of the most complex to export from. The self-serve tools cover client profiles but not booking history (Res Cards) — for a full export you'll likely need professional help.

Self-serve export — ClientBase Windows:

  1. Run a search/query of your clients
  2. Go to File > Export to Excel (or CSV)
  3. Use Select Columns before exporting to choose what fields to include

Self-serve export — ClientBase Online:

  1. Use the Merge to File (Export) feature
  2. Can export client profiles and address data to CSV

What CAN be exported via self-serve: client names, addresses, phone numbers, email, traveler info (passport numbers, etc.)

What CANNOT be exported via self-serve: Res Cards (booking history), travel history, activity history, and notes with full fidelity.

Other Platforms

TravelWorks

TravelWorks is primarily a back-office accounting system. Exports are available through their reports module.

  • Call 1-877-282-4556 or use the contact form at travelworkssolution.com/contact
  • Request Excel/CSV reports for: client list, booking history, commission records, and invoices

Dolphin Dynamics

Dolphin is an enterprise mid/back-office system with 60+ built-in report types. Contact your account manager or email info@dolphind.com to request a data migration export.

Sabre Agency Manager

For Sabre Agency Manager (SAM), log a case through the Sabre Hub at sabre.com/support-agencies/ or call 1-877-367-2269 and ask for the Agency Migration team. Request: client profile export, booking history, and commission data. Sabre offers a complimentary profile migration service for agencies transitioning off SAM.


After Exporting: Import Into JourneyFuse

Once you have your CSV file(s), use JourneyFuse's import tool to bring your clients and leads in:

  1. Go to Clients or Leads
  2. Click Import CSV
  3. The wizard auto-maps common column names and flags duplicates before anything is saved

Tips for a Smooth Migration

  • Request all data before canceling — most platforms delete data on account termination
  • Ask for CSV or Excel format — these map most easily into JourneyFuse's import template
  • Key fields to always request: First name, Last name, Email, Phone, Address, Passport info, Trip history (supplier, booking date, travel date, amount, commission), Notes
  • Follow up in writing even after a phone call — you want confirmation of what was exported and when
  • Split large exports into batches of 1,000 rows for the JourneyFuse import wizard
